Welcome to the 20th Anniversary site of The Cochrane Collaboration
Welcome to The Cochrane Collaboration’s 20th Anniversary website!
As the Collaboration celebrates 20 years since its official foundation in 1993, a full year of commemorative events is underway, including a series of videos, publications across the healthcare spectrum, and events worldwide, including this year’s Cochrane Colloquium in Quebec City. Please bookmark this site and check back frequently to keep up to date with events, commemorations, and anniversary-related news, and please submit your own items for inclusion on the site.
The tenth in the Cochrane20 Video Series focuses on the importance of engaging consumers in The Cochrane Collaboration's work, to inform research agendas, improve understanding and communication of evidence, and enable participation in healthcare decision-making.

In February 2013, Jani Ruotsalainen, Managing Editor of the Cochrane Occupational Safety and Health Review Group (based at the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health), drew attention to The Cochrane Collaboration in its 20th Anniversary year by entering the 30th Finland Ice Marathon in Kuopio as a representative of the Cochrane Collaboration.
With a minimal amount of preparation, Jani finished 120th out of 145 skaters in the 37.5km race – very well done, Jani!
